School Demographics (US Dept. of Education)

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (November 2006) This is the best public school in Chino! The administration is caring and has great follow through. The teachers are caring and strive for excellence from each student, The pfa is very active and provides many great events. Including a family night and mother/daughter and father/son nights. If a family environment and attention to education is what you want for your child, This is the school for you. My kids have attended 3 other schools in the CVUSD due to moves and they will not attend another. This is the best school in town! The school also is in the process of becoming a International Baccalaureate school which allows our children an opportunity in education they can't get anywhere else in the district. I am lucky my kids attend such a wonderful school. I would highly recommend this school to anyone and everyone!

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (February 2007) I am very happy with Briggs. This is our 7th year there, and we love it! The teachers are wonderful, the office staff is friendly and helpful and the PFA works very hard to make sure we have some well rounded activities for the children, not to mention they do an excellent job of raising money for field trips, classroom supplies and teacher supplies. I am proud to be a very involved Briggs parent and am happy to have made the 'choice' to have my kids attend this great school!

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (January 2006) We moved here in 2004 and put our daughter's in 2nd and 4th Grades. They have said many times that they really enjoy this school and how great the teachers are. Our older daughter has been in the school play both years now and they have made several good friends. My wife and I have assisted in our daughter's classrooms for different activities the last 2 years. I highly recommend any parent(s) to check Howard Cattle and see for themselves what a great school this is. The principal has an 'open-door' policy too!

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (September 2005) Princpal leadership is great, they are always visible and available, the teachers I have encountered for the most part show good judgement. The substitutes chosen have not been well prepared. I think staff and principals should be more involved with the actual class education and feedback from students in reference to their class environment. Maybe provide extra classes to show teachers how to manage and assist students, especially as it pertains to large class sizes and situations in and out of class.

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (September 2006) Our two children have had excellent scores and report cards because we are working with the teachers and principal to ensure overall (not just academic) success! Education is not just the responsibility of the teacher or principal. It starts at home! My children are awesome students because my husband, kids, and I make school a top priority. This is the same priority as many of my friends and their kids who attend Dickson. Thank you to each staff member at Dickson! You are appreciated more than you know!

School Demographics (US Dept. of Education)

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (April 2004) We have been more than pleased with This school. We pulled our son out of another Elementary school while in first grade. Mostly because the treatment of children is so much better at This school. Here's the biggest advantages I see at This school: Great Parent involvement, the children who are at This school belong to parents who care, the energy level of the Teachers is great (don't know why some parents would rather have an old teacher who is burnt out), the Teachers really care here (our son really loves his Teacher and we can tell she loves him). This school has saved our son. He will start 2nd grade next year and we are glad to say that our daughter will be starting kindergarten here next year. We drive 40 minutes each direction to take our son to This school. It is worth every minute.

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (December 2006) My child has been at Gird for 4 years and I have been unsatisfied with the school for much of this time. I think that Mr. Chapparo is a good principal but I think the quality of many of the teachers leaves much to be desired. Mr. Dykstra is an exception. There is great room for improvement."

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (November 2006) My 4 children have been at this school for the two years and I am still impressed with the teachers, principal and vice-principal. It was a 'day & night' difference compared to their last school and district. Recently, the school has rolled out their new website intended to inform parents of the 'classroom news', upcoming events, homework assignments and communication between teachers and parents. Unfortunately, not too many teachers are updating their information on a daily basis and have nothing to offer which I believe is a reflection of that individual. I love that the principal and vice-principal are out directing traffic in the parking lot (both AM & PM)and walking the kids safely across the street. A job that could have easily been delegated to another staff but didn't. To me, actions speak louder than words!

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (August 2006) I give Newman Elementary an A+ it is the best school that your children can attend there is so much involvement between the parents and teachers it is amazing. I have never seen the teachers and the principal Mr. Bailey get out there and get dirty with the children. I would recommend anyone who can to send there kids to this amazing school where the teachers have been there since they attended school there. I also recommend that parents get involved in the PTA. It is the best education decision you can make for your child. I've also had teachers call see how the family was doing or just to let me know how well my child was doing in class and that is a wonderful feeling to know they notice your child.

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (July 2006) I am grateful every single day that my children have an opportunity to attend Rhodes Elementary. The teachers are very dedicated and invested in every aspect of making the classroom and school great. Our kids get to experience things like gardening, dance team, track, plays and productions. Every year the kids get a week of enrichment classes offered on subjects like France, the rainforest, animation or flag twirling. The kids love this and the classes open up their world beyond the standard curriculum. Our Principal is a wonderful leader, sets high standards for staff, student and parent involvement. Her expectations are clear and the staff, students and parent community rise to meet them. We also have very dedicated and involved parents. It is nice to be involved and do your part to make school great for the kids when the leadership is solid and the goals clear.

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (January 2006) My daughter Natalie did very good at this school, so I feel it is not just the schools issue to see that your children do good, but it is also up to the Mother and Father. Natalie is at Chino High School and is at the top of her class of 2006,this is her last year in high school, and what she learned from Magnolia help her in High School. She also is in Band program, that helped. It is a very good school, I will send all my children to this school. I have one right now and Sarah is doing good to. And is in Band and Basketball at the school.

School Demographics (US Dept. of Education)

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (December 2006)) I feel the core classes offered at Chino High and the teachers are quality. However, this is the lowest API ranked High school in the main High Schools in Chino Unified. I transferred my child to another Chino Unified School and the difference is shocking! Chino needs to enforce stricter rules for students staying on campus, taking pride in maintaining a clean campus and taking pride in the school in general. More funding is needed for smaller sports and extra curricular organizations. The school needs more parental involvement and desperately needs more attention from the school board. It is a huge disappointment.

School Demographics (US Dept. of Education)

Great Schools Parent Reviews (View All): (December 2006) The quality of academic program varies. The best program available for your child is the AVID Program. This program is geared to ensuring your child has all the available resources that will help your child attend college. This school also has a good honors program. The availability of music, art, sports and other extracurricular activities are offered, if your child is interested. The level of parent involvement is poor - average.
